About Zach McKay

Zach McKay is a writer from the United States, and a game lover since he stole his dad’s N64 controller to play Ocarina of Time. He has been playing video games for the better part of 25 years and thoroughly enjoys a variety of game genres. From being a hunter in Bloodborne, to a guitar-wielding music nerd in Hi-Fi Rush, or even being a Triple Triad addict in Final Fantasy VIII, Zach has covered many bases in his gaming journey.

He looks forward to any and all challenges in video games and has nothing but respect for game developers willing to provide these challenges. Zach wishes to help those in need with their journey so that they can get the helping hand that he once needed while being stuck in the Water Temple long ago.
 

Favorite Games

Final Fantasy VIII, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, Hi-Fi Rush, Nier Automata, and Chrono Cross are the top 5 favorites.

Final Fantasy VIII is one of Zach's all-time favorites due to how Squall's story unfolds and how much he grows as a character throughout the story, the game is also enjoyable to learn and play which most certainly does add to the experience.

Proudest Gaming Achievement

Completing the entirety of God Hand on the hardest difficulty was a proud moment. In a game riddled with issues the combat was sublime and finishing it was a blast for Zach, and it will always have a special spot in his heart. It is not a game for everyone, but if someone is looking for a challenge it is worth giving a shot.

Favorite Console

Zach feels that the PlayStation 2 is one of the best consoles. Some of the best JRPGs ever made were released on the PlayStation 2 and are still amazing games to play to this day. Those games influenced what is played to this day and it is always nice going back to play the great games that influence developers to make newer games.
