About Quin Callahan

Quin Callahan is a professional writer with over eight years of experience creating gaming content. In addition to games writing, he's also produced TTRPG content for a variety of tabletop publishers. His love of games began with the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Its sequel, Majora's Mask, stands as one of his favorite games of all time. With multiple decades of experience with games in every genre, Quin has developed an eye for what seems to work in games and what doesn't.

Proudest Gaming Achievement

Quin's proudest gaming achievement is defeating Isshin, the Sword Saint in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and, to a lesser extent, the Demon of Hatred in that same game. Despite having a love of FromSoftware's ARPGs, both these fights both felt like insurmountable walls at the skill he came into them at. Only through many attempts and a constant effort to improve did Quin manage to beat these fights (which he admittedly is a little embarassed about when seeing how some players can beat them with ease).

Favorite Games

Quin's favorite game is (probably) the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. While in many ways simple by modern standards, it is a game with a complexity to its writing and a variety in its environments that was hugely impressive for the time and which remains beautiful and interesting even to a modern eye.

RimWorld is another of Quin's favorites. This space colony management game from Ludeon Studios is a simulator of immense depth, with every expansion only adding to the variety of mechanics and interesting possibilities available to the player. Many components of the game can engaged with or ignored as the player so chooses, depending on the goals of the colony and the experience a player wants to have. Its a game any fan of community management simulators ought to try out.

The original focus of his content was on RPGs, beginning with TTRPGs, but has since allowed his interests to branch out to many different genres and series, developing a love for everything from Slime Rancher to Dark Souls.
