Developer Chief Rebel and publisher Arc Games have shared a new trailer for Fellowship, revealing a playable character and starting a Hero Spotlight series. This time we get a closer look at Mara, an assassin whose function in the game is that of a melee DPS that can hide in the shadows to strike foes unnoticed.

Fellowship is described as a fantasy "MODA", which stands for multiplayer online dungeon adventure. In the game, players must learn how to play together as teams to face hordes and other challenges in streamlined dungeon runs. According to the developers, the idea is that anyone can dive into these without needing to spend too long to unlock specific areas.

There will be casual Quick Play Dungeons and the Ranked Dungeons that offer specific difficulties that can make them much trickier to handle. Players who want to show off their skills can try to take a spot on the competitive leader boards, while others may also find fun by trying to coordinate their actions with friends and finding a good combination of tanks, healers and damage dealers. Up to four people can create their own team and look for the perfect balance of role distribution among them with a familiar structure for PC players of various sorts, including those who play WoW Classic.

Mara is part of the latter group, attacking enemies from close range with powerful moves. To get closer to her opponents, she has to avoid drawing attention to herself, which makes stealth a powerful tool at her disposal and her strongest suit. In the new video, we can see how she uses her powers of darkness and can become much stronger by spending points to use special skills.

More to Come

Mara is only the first player character to receive the spotlight to kick off a series of videos called "Hero Spotlight". The companies plan to showcase more of the options in the near future, eventually covering all the heroes that will be part of the game's early access build.

Previously, there were seven known heroes in the game, with three DPS options, two tanks and two healers. Mara fits a different style from the other damage dealers as Ardeos and Rime are both ranged spellcasters and Tariq is closer to a berserker with heavy strikes and fury.

The official Fellowship YouTube channel covers some deep dives into how to play using Ardeos, Tariq and the healer Sylvie and other gameplay aspects in lengthier videos. There is also a playtest video that explains how those eager to play it can sign up to be on the game's waiting list.

While a specific date hasn't been provided yet, Chief Rebel and Arc Games plan to release Fellowship in early access sometime in 2025. It'll be possible to play the game on PC and the Steam page is already open for wishlisting. However, the companies have teased that more relevant information on the project will be shared on August 20 during Future Games Show at Gamescom 2025, which may reveal a closer look at what's next for the project.
